La scultura "Kaos e Kosmos" è un'opera realizzata in pietra lavica dell'Etna, alta 170 cm con un diametro di 35 cm. Sulla scultura, per ogni lato della colonna, si trovano quattro tagli profondi che simboleggiano le aperture attraverso cui le forze del caos si infiltrano e interagiscono con il nucleo della stabilità e dell'ordine, rappresentato dalla colonna stessa. Al centro di questa struttura, un filo a piombo pende con precisione, a simboleggiare l'etica che agisce come la giusta misura e il bilanciamento tra gli estremi. Questo filo a piombo è essenziale per mantenere l'equilibrio dinamico tra il Kaos, che sfida continuamente le strutture esistenti e invita all'innovazione e al cambiamento, e il Kosmos, l'ordine stabilito che rappresenta la coerenza e la regolarità dell'universo. L'equilibrio etico non è statico, ma è un processo attivo e continuo di adattamento e negoziazione, come la figura mitologica di Temi, la titanessa che mantiene l'ordine e la giustizia. L'etica è il fulcro che sostiene l'ordine cosmico e gestisce il caos nel mondo. "Kaos e Kosmos" quindi non è solo un tributo alla bellezza estetica e alla maestosità dell'ordine naturale e del caos dinamico, ma è anche un'incarnazione scultorea delle profonde verità filosofiche sulla natura dell'esistenza e la continua ricerca dell'equilibrio. Ogni elemento della scultura è intriso di significato, dalle insenature che lasciano spazio alle forze del caos, alla solida colonna che afferma la presenza rassicurante del kosmos, fino al filo a piombo che, sospeso, guida e stabilizza. Quest’ opera invita lo spettatore a riflettere sulla complessità delle interazioni tra disordine e ordine, sfidando la nostra percezione e invitandoci a considerare come, anche nel tumulto, possiamo trovare direzione e senso.

The sculpture "Kaos and Kosmos" is a work made of lava stone of Etna, 170 cm high with a diameter of 35 cm. On the sculpture, for each side of the column, There are four deep cuts symbolizing the openings through which the forces of chaos infiltrate and interact with the core of stability and order, represented by the column itself. At the center of this structure, a plumb line hangs precisely, symbolizing the ethics that acts as the right measure and balance between the extremes. This plumb line is essential to maintain the dynamic balance between the Kaos, which continually challenges existing structures and invites innovation and change, and the Kosmos, the established order that represents the coherence and regularity of the universe. The ethical balance is not static, but it is an active and continuous process of adaptation and negotiation, like the mythological figure of Themis, the Titaness that maintains order and justice. Ethics is the fulcrum that sustains the cosmic order and manages chaos in the world. " Kaos and Kosmos" is therefore not only a tribute to the aesthetic beauty and majesty of the natural order and dynamic chaos, but also a sculptural embodiment of the deep philosophical truths about the nature of existence and the continuous search for balance. Every element of the sculpture is full of meaning, from the inlets that leave room for the forces of chaos, to the solid column that affirms the reassuring presence of kosmos, up to the plumb line that, suspended, guides and stabilizes. This work invites the viewer to reflect on the complexity of the interactions between disorder and order, challenging our perception and inviting us to consider how, even in the turmoil, we can find direction and meaning.
