La scultura “Panozio: Orecchie del Cuore” è un’opera che esplora il mito affascinante del popolo dei Panozio, una creatura antropomorfa dal folklore medioevale. Il popolo dei Panozio, noto anche come Panozi, trae le sue radici da antiche credenze che li collocano nelle isole all’estremo nord del continente europeo, come menzionato da Plinio nel suo libro IV, capitolo 95. Si racconta che questi esseri avessero orecchie così grandi da toccare terra, utilizzandole come giaciglio e coperta durante il sonno. La loro caratteristica più affascinante era la timidezza, e alcuni racconti narrano che al minimo avvicinarsi di estranei, le loro orecchie si trasformavano in ali, consentendo loro di volare lontano dal pericolo. The sculpture "Panozio: Ears of the Heart" is a work that explores the fascinating myth of the Panozio people, an anthropomorphic creature of medieval folklore. Travertine, used to sculpt this representation, becomes an element that connects the duration of the material to the persistence of the myth over time. The people of the Panothios, also known as Panozi, draw their roots from ancient beliefs that place them in the islands at the far north of the European continent, as mentioned by Pliny in his book IV, chapter 95. It is said that these beings had ears so large as to touch the ground, using them as a bed and covered during sleep. Their most fascinating feature was shyness, and some stories tell that at the slightest approach of strangers, their ears turned into wings, allowing them to fly away from danger. The sculpture captures the magic and essence of this myth, giving shape to the imposing ears of the Panozio. In addition to being a distinctive physical feature, the ears become the symbol of diversity and hidden vulnerability. The artistic representation invites viewers to reflect on the beauty of differences and on the ability to become a response to external dangers. "Panozio: Ears of the Heart" is a hymn to diversity, metamorphosis and the intrinsic strength to adapt to the challenges of life.
